Wakey wakey, everyone, we're going for a treat!

The journey commenced with the sun still yawning on the horizon.

With a convoy of three cars, engines humming, set off to the hours-long drive.

The winding roads were like ribbons through the green, each turn revealing landscapes more breathtaking than the last.

As we ascended higher, the air grew cooler, a refreshing change that heightened our anticipation. The drive to Cameron Highland, though lengthy, was far from tedious, serving as the perfect prologue to our glamping adventure.

While awaiting the designated check-in time, our excitement was momentarily paused, but not dulled, as we found solace in a quaint café.

This charming haven was renowned for serving up the local culinary delight: scones, a nod to the region's rich heritage and lingering influence from the English colonisation era.

The café offered us a warm embrace, a place to congregate, relax, and immerse ourselves in laughter and casual conversation.

Click-clock, the moment we had all been eagerly awaiting finally arrived
Check-in time at One Ground, the official start of our glamping adventure.

With a symphony of zippers and the rustle of bags being unpacked, we settled.

The main agenda was now in full swing, and it commenced with an activity that was both primal and bonding:

Lunch time!

The preparation of lunch, an activity that saw every member of the group pitching in with enthusiasm.

Everyone found their niche, contributing to the feast that was about to come together.

The crucial task of setting the fire for grilling fell to the boys, Alip and Emi.

First on the list was Shade's guacamole with her sous-chefs (Ida, Tyra, Nora and I)

Chera, with her knack for the grill, chose roasted potatoes and grilled chicken wings.

YH, ever the grill master, took charge of the grilled corn.

Fey and Syaf took on the challenge of curry noodles,.

Syaf brought a piece of his heritage, a freshly prepared chai tea.

All the chopping, stirring, and seasoning. It’s chow time, folks!

As the afternoon waned and the cool of the evening began to settle,

Our culinary session transitioned into the night's agenda.

A campfire gathering under the starlit sky

Emi took on the role of s'mores chef, roasting marshmallows to a perfect golden brown.

Alip, acting as the night's barista, prepared hot chocolate that was nothing short of liquid gold.

The evening took an unexpected turn towards merriment and mental gymnastics
YH, the role of game master, introduced us to a card game.

The card game eventually gave way to the alphabet game.

Starting with 'A' and moving through the circle, naming something relevant to the chosen topic corresponding with the next letter in the alphabet.

From flowers to countries, artists, and design concepts.

The range of topics kept everyone on their toes.

Giggles erupted filled the air like music, as laughter became our common language.

We found ourselves sharing stories, fostered a deeper understanding among us.

It wasn't just about the games but about the collective experience.

The unspoken feeling of being understood and accepted. Made the night truly special.

After the last ember had faded, eventually the night wore on, signalling the end of First Day.
For some, the night acts as a chance for deeper connections, girls-talk!

With whispers and giggles floatings. A sanctuary for exchanging stories and secrets.

Layering friendships with new depths of understanding.

It was a day rich with experiences, from culinary explorations to the warmth of shared stories by the campfire, capped off with games that brought out the child in each of us.

Drifting off to sleep in with a sense of fulfilment and looking forward to the next day.

Stay tuned for part 2, where the continuation of our story awaits

What could it be? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: the journey is far from over.
